ARTIST STATEMENT
My predilection for architecture and design is clearly manifested in my art. Geometry, patterns, perspectives, as well as light and shadow are at the heart of my creations. It was during my studies in interior design that I was able to develop the two fundamental dimensions of my artistic expression: visual arts and technical drawing.
Among the architects and designers who influence my works are Calatrava, Starck, Le Corbusier, and Mies Van der Rohe. In addition to modernism, antiquity is also a source of inspiration, from Plato’s solids to the patterns of Pompeian houses, and even Etruscan art.
Driven by precision, I use various technological tools to achieve the desired results. Designed on the computer, my creations allow me to reach a high level of precision during cutting. Therefore, the choice to work with vinyl and acetate as mediums fits into this same logic, as they allow for very clean cuts. Coming from a family of artists and artisans—on both my mother's and father's sides—visual art and manual work are intertwined in my approach. This choice of mediums, which requires a lot of technique, is also explained by this heritage.
In summary, thanks to art, I can explore new dimensions of myself, which allows me to grow a little more with each work.
Until the next Artwork!
