ARTIST STATEMENT

Nurturing a profound interest in architecture and design, these influences are vividly reflected in my creations. Thus, geometry, patterns, and perspectives, as well as light and shadow, form the very core of my art.

Furthermore, it was during my studies in interior design that I developed the two fundamental dimensions of my artistic expression: the visual arts and technical drawing.

Shaped by two distinct temporal axes, my sources of inspiration are, without a doubt, diametrically opposed. Despite their apparent distance, the timeless quality of their lines and forms converge harmoniously. On one side, the 20th century,

with its Art Deco, Bauhaus, Mid-Century, and—of course—Op Art styles; on the other, Antiquity, with Plato’s solids and Pompeian patterns.

Guided by a quest for precision, I rely on a combination of manual and technological tools to achieve highly accurate results.

My creative process follows four main steps: design, drawing, cutting, and assembling. Once I design the concept, I create a digital drawing of it to achieve an optimal level of detail. The drawing is then cut using a plotter to ensure an exceptionally sharp finish, and finally assembled by hand.

I chose vinyl and acetate as mediums for their ability to produce exceptionally clean cuts while requiring a technicality during the assembly process that I truly enjoy.

Coming from a family of artists and artisans, this heritage allows me to harmoniously blend visual art and craftsmanship in my artistic approach.

Finally, as I delve into the core of my being, art unveils forgotten inner worlds to me. I aspire to offer the public an artistic universe that invites contemplation and connection with the present moment.

See you soon, in new worlds to explore!
