THE HEART BEHIND THE ART
Hello! My name is Isabelle Gervasio. Originally from Montreal and born into a family of artists and artisans, I currently reside in the Laurentians region, Quebec, Canada.

Although I hold a degree in the arts, my professional career led me toward communication and marketing, where I developed other facets of my creativity.
However, my love for visual art had to be put on hold as I juggled the role of caregiver for my sick parents and a demanding job.
Ironically, a health issue in 2022 marked a turning point. To aid my recovery, my doctor encouraged me, among other things, to reconnect with artistic activities.
It was at that precise moment that the artist in me re-emerged. Since then, art has been at the heart of my existence.​

I began marketing my work in 2024 and have made over 15 sales since, including five custom commissions.

Since childhood, I have been fascinated by the interaction between geometry, patterns, and perspectives, as well as the interplay of shadow and light.
These elements remain my primary source of inspiration. Moreover, my education in interior design allowed me to develop the two fundamental dimensions of my artistic expression: visual arts and technical drawing.
Through my works, I aspire to evoke contemplative reflection and encourage farniente*, thus offering an opportunity to pause and savor the present moment.

* Derived from Italian, the term "far niente" literally means "doing nothing." Far from laziness, it represents the art of living in the present in sweet idleness. More than just a state of mind, it's a philosophy of life. Farniente is thus a moment of pause, relaxation, and contemplation of all the beauties life offers us, including art!
